Bobcats visit lowly Nets
Basketball Betting Lines
04/12/2010 -
(Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The playoff-bound Charlotte Bobcats can still move up in
the Eastern Conference standings and will pay a visit to the New Jersey Nets
tonight at the IZOD Center.
Charlotte is currently seventh in the conference, just two games behind
Milwaukee and Miami for the fifth seed, and has won eight of its last 11
games. In a 99-95 home victory versus Detroit on Saturday, D.J. Augustin sank
the go-ahead jumper in the final two minutes and Larry Hughes ended with 18
points for the Bobcats, who can finish no worse than seventh in the East and
no better than sixth.
"We've had a lot of games like this that we haven't been able to finish out,"
Bobcats coach Larry Brown said. "Fortunately, we got some stops."
Augustin had 13 points, while both Stephen Jackson and Gerald Wallace scored
14 points in the win. In injury news for Charlotte, which will close out the
season on Wednesday versus Chicago, guard Raymond Felton (flu) and forward
Tyrus Thomas (thumb) are questionable for tonight.
New Jersey has lost three of four games and will host Charlotte tonight before
visiting Miami in the season finale on Wednesday.
In a 115-102 loss at Indiana on Saturday, Brook Lopez scored a team-high 20
points and Terrence Williams, coming of a triple-double in a win over Chicago
on Friday, finished with 15 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. Over the
last five games, Williams is averaging 21.2 ppg, 7.8 rpg and 9.0 apg.
Courtney Lee also had 15 points and Kris Humphries added 13 for the Nets, who
will put their 8-32 home record to the test this evening.
"We wore out a little bit," Nets head coach Kiki Vandeweghe said. "The extra
effort just wasn't there in the second half."
New Jersey leads the 2009-10 series with Charlotte by a 2-1 count and has won
nine of the last 12 matchups between the clubs. The Bobcats have dropped two
in a row and seven of the 10 meetings at the Meadowlands.

Stanley Cup betting
New York, NY – October 3, 2007 – The dress rehearsal is over! The NHL preseason has ended and now that fans have had a glimpse of what is to come it is time to hit the book! Stanley Cup odds are live at MySportsbook.com, the world’s largest online sportsbook and casino.
The Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings remain on top of the odds charts after an impressive start in the preseason. Betting lines opened for both teams at 6-1 in June. Since then the Sens have fallen to 7-1 and the Red Wings are now caught in a pack including the defending champion Carolina Hurricanes, the San Jose Sharks and the Anaheim Ducks, all at 10-1.
MySportsbook.com has also posted props on each team’s point total for the regular season. The Senators lead the charge at 108.5 followed by the Ducks at 106.5. Detroit will attempt a repeat for the prize as the Red Wings are deadlocked with the Predators at 104.5 a piece. The temporary loss of highly touted rookie Evgeni Malkin puts a lot of pressure on the stick of assistant captain Sidney Crosby - his lowly Pittsburgh Penguins are listed at 71.5.
Even if bettors are not brave enough to put their money on the underdog, an early bet on the favorites at sportsbook.com tends to produce bigger payouts than a mid-season wager. Placing a $1,000 bet last summer on the Detroit Red Wings or Ottawa Senators would have paid out to $8,000 and $10,000 respectively, opposed to a $2,500 or $3,000 payout at the beginning of the playoffs.
